How they met:

Anne and Tom met on eharmony in the fall of 2012.  They spent a few weeks emailing and talking on the phone and the conversations seemed to flow very naturally.  Anne liked Tom's sense of humor and Tom liked Anne's drive and work ethic.  The first date was at Bayside Bar & Grill.  The date was casual and Tom seemed a little off his game to Anne.  The next day he admitted to feeling sick but wanted to meet.

After a few weeks of dating, introduction to friends and group outings, Tom asked Anne to dinner.  About an hour before the dinner Tom received a phone call from Anne about having had an accident and possible sprain or broken her foot and needing xrays.  A few days later Anne called him and asked "so…..do you want to go on that date……… and help me run a few errands?"  Tom arrived to fine Anne's injury maybe more serious than he originally thought.  He helped her into the truck, helped her with errands and took her to dinner.  The next day Anne had a doctor's appointment with a specialist to review her MRI results.  Previous xrays had shown no broken bones but a possible tear of ligaments and tendons.  The doctor wanted an MRI as he suspected more.  Tom took Anne to that appt where they learned that she would need two surgeries and would need to be "no weight baring" on her injured foot for several months.  Tom comforted Anne as the tears started flowing.  He promised to help out and take care of her.  Surgery was scheduled Dec 26, 2012 and Tom basically stayed with Anne at her condo to help take care of her for several months while she rehabbed and prepared for surgery #2.  During that time Tom took Anne to doctor's appointments, physical therapy, the grocery store, and made Anne laugh everyday.  They had a lot of time on the couch talking because Anne was very limited in what she could do since it was a terrible snowy and icy winter and it wasn't safe to go outside on crutches for fear of falling and creating a worse injury.  

After the second surgery Anne was finally walking again and she knew she had found a keeper who liked her at her worst and who made her laugh despite all the tough stuff going on.  The end of April 2013 Tom took Anne on a wine tour in West Michigan and while on a beach on lake Michigan, he proposed.

Their Wedding Day:

The day finally arrived! On the wedding day, Tom spent the day golfing and with his groomsmen at the hotel.

Anne spent the day at their new house with her bridesmaids getting hair and make up done with mimosas in hand.  Anne felt like she was floating on a cloud because Tamesha and her team were handling all the details and vendors to ensure a smooth wedding day.  Anne recounts, "I had no worries that day……I was just excited because all the coordinating and making sure stuff was done was handled."

When asked how they balanced life, love, work, and wedding planning, Anne & Tom offer this advice:

The best advice I can give is to get a wedding planner/coordinator even if it's just for the day of!  They can make great recommendations for vendors and also help bring your vision into a reality without all the stress involved.  

Pinterest is a great place to get ideas and help create your vision.  Be realistic within your budget and also use your wedding planner to help give you ideas to bring your vision to a reality within your budget they are a GREAT resource of knowledge and creative ideas to get you the best deals possible and make any event what you want it to be!

Remember in the end it's all about being with those you love and a big party so it's not worth stressing over just remember to have fun!  We personally decided to have guest remain seated after the ceremony so Tom and I could dismiss them personally with hugs say hello and thank you.  This gave us a chance to personally thank everyone.
